Beginner Guide: Your First Complete Loop
A practical orientation built from confirmed full-release facts, with player advice kept separate from verified mechanics.
Eight clear moves
Prepare, explore, collect, return, price, sell, improve and repeat. Your first goal is not a perfect build — it is bringing useful loot home alive and learning one shop decision at a time.
Last verified: August 27, 2026 · Fell & Sell is the 2026 first-person shopkeeper roguelike, not Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark.
The core loop
Your first dungeon-to-shop cycle
- 01
Prepare
Set a simple run goal and leave room to carry what matters. Developer guidance suggests a cart, sack and bench as a useful early setup.
- 02
Explore
Enter with a return condition. Deeper progress can offer rarer loot, but it also puts unsafely stored loot at risk.
- 03
Collect
Prioritize items you can use, craft with or evaluate in the shop instead of filling every slot without a plan.
- 04
Return
Leave while the run still advances your shop. Death costs all loot that was not stored safely.
- 05
Craft or stock
Use confirmed systems first. The Quest Board rewards coins, equipment and rare items; exact recipe-drop rules remain lower-confidence.
- 06
Price
Set quantity and price at the selling table, then treat customer response as evidence rather than a universal formula.
- 07
Sell and improve
Reinvest profits into the shop and furniture without relying on unverified cost tables or hidden thresholds.
- 08
Repeat
Change one decision on the next cycle so you can tell what actually helped.
Early mistakes
Protect the learning loop
Do not overstay for one more item
Rarer loot is useful only if it reaches safe storage.
Do not copy a magic price
Demand, shop renown and interior decoration all influence pricing context.
Keep version labels visible
Demo observations may not describe the current full release.
